The Benefits of Counselling

Creating Positive Transformations Through Different  Therapeutic Modalities

Enhanced Healing and Growth

Counselling at Ready Counselling is designed to empower young minds, enhance emotional growth, improve school performance, and foster better peer relations. We believe in nurturing healthy development and creating positive transformations for children, youth, and families through our specialised services and compassionate approach. Connection is the foundation for a child’s growth and development because attachment is our fundamental need. Strong attachment between a child and their primary caregiver is the foundation of resilience, mental health, trust, and the ability to thrive in the world. This is why Ready Counselling involves the child’s parent or primary caregiver within the sessions. This creates an environment where both parents and children can express themselves openly, build trust with the facilitator and each other. Parents/caregivers are central to the child’s development, and together, we create the best path forward for lasting, positive change.

Internal Family Systems Informed.

IFS is a transformative tool that believes that every person as a system of protective and wounded inner parts led by a core Self. Just like members of a family, inner parts are sometimes forced into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged but it also knows how to heal. An Internal Family Systems lens can  help people heal by supporting self to access and healing their protective and wounded inner parts.
Internal Family Systems involves helping heal individuals, by listening inside themselves in a new way. Learning to  recognise the different parts present inside, the thoughts and feelings, and go through a process of unburdening the extreme beliefs, emotions, urges or sensations that these parts may hold.

Big Feelings

Karen Young

Big feelings are a call for support in the same way children weren’t meant to carry big physical loads on their own. They also weren’t meant to carry big emotional ones. When feelings get too big children will create their feelings in us as a way to share the emotional load

Healing doesn’t mean the pain never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.
